I am a singer, songwriter, guitarist and recording artist, with original music on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music and most digital platforms.
I had to learn to DJ in a club where I was a manager a long time ago. I thus had to evolve to survive in the music industry by doing anything available: live gigs, event DJing, karaoke and renting out sound equipment to other musicians and DJs.
That mix is really the story of Murphy's Music and Sound. I did not set out to become a sound and event technician - it grew out of needing to solve real problems at real gigs: a PA that would not behave, a wedding ceremony with no clear plan for the speeches, a guitar that buzzed on every open chord. Fixing those problems on the spot, over and over, is where the practical side of this business actually comes from.
As a computer technician, it was easy for me to learn how to fix sound equipment and some instruments. That technical background is why I approach live sound and equipment repair the way I do: work through the signal chain or the physical fault methodically, find the actual cause, and only then decide whether it is a quick fix or something bigger. It is the same habit of mind whether I am troubleshooting a computer, a mixing desk or a guitar neck.
Today that comes together as a few related things I do for people: playing and singing at live gigs and private functions, running sound and music for weddings and events, DJing, and doing honest, first-look assessments and repairs on guitars and sound equipment.
